USA Network renews three dramas

USA Network has given renewals to three of its dramas: "Covert Affairs," "Royal Pains" and "Necessary Roughness." Each show received 16-episode orders. Pickups follow recent renewals of "White Collar," "Suits," "In Plain Sight" and "Burn Notice." "Roughness," starring Callie Thorne as a therapist for a pro football team, launched in the summer and averaged 5.8 million viewers. USA was the top cable network this summer in total viewers and in the 18-49 demo. "Covert Affairs," which will begin the second half of season two Nov. 1, stars Piper Perabo as a CIA operative. The six-episode second half of season three of "Royal Pains" debuts later this winter. Show stars Mark Feuerstein as a doctor in the tony Long Island community the Hamptons.
